Hucknall Water Polo Club is delighted to host the Masters (40+) Tournament and Summer Social on Saturday 13 June 2026 - both on the same day. The tournament kicks off in the afternoon at Hucknall Leisure Centre, and the Summer Social rolls on into the evening at Butler’s Hill School.

All tournament players are warmly invited to the Summer Social, and so is the whole club - whether you played in the tournament or not. It’s a chance for everyone to come together and round off the day.

Masters Tournament

13:00 – 16:30 at Hucknall Leisure Centre Linby Rd, Hucknall, Nottingham NG15 7TX

A friendly afternoon of masters-level water polo. The winning team take home a salver trophy and winners’ medals, and winning players earn a free drink at the Summer Social to celebrate.

Everyone playing in the tournament gets a free ticket to the Summer Social included in their entry. Additional tickets for friends and family can be bought for £5 from the raffle desk on the day.

Four teams are competing: Hucknall, Northern Alliance, South Derbyshire and Southwell/Leander. They play a round-robin across the afternoon, with the leading sides meeting in the final.

Format: running clock, two periods of 8 minutes with a 2-minute interval. No time-outs.

Good to know

Everything you need for the day at Hucknall Leisure Centre:

  • Parking - the car park is pay & display until 6pm, with the first two hours free. It can get busy, so please allow time; follow the instructions on the meter and ask at reception if you’re unsure.
  • Changing - use the wet changing room, which is on your left as you come in from outside (before the reception desk). Please don’t change on poolside, and note that mobile phones aren’t permitted in the changing rooms.
  • Seating - players are poolside throughout, with the first row of the spectator area reserved for players. Please dry off and change into dry clothes and footwear before entering the main spectator area.
  • Refreshments - there’s no café at the centre, but drinks and snacks will be on sale at the raffle desk in the spectator area. Please bring cash.
  • Raffle - a range of prizes will be up for grabs, with proceeds helping the club run events like this one. Please bring cash.
  • Photography - a club photographer will be taking photos for our website and social media. Any concerns can be raised with the meet co-ordinator.
  • Litter - please take all litter with you from the seating and spectator areas at the end of the day.

Summer Social

16:30 – 21:30 at Butler’s Hill School NG15 6AJ

Families and friends welcome - a relaxed evening to catch up with the club, with a BBQ on the go, a raffle, and drinks available on the night.
